Biography

THOLA – Power. Precision. Spielfreude.

THOLA is a Swiss Melodic Heavy Metal band founded in 2016, combining powerful riffs, soaring melodies, precision-driven musicianship and an unmistakable passion for the stage.

The current THOLA lineup was completed in 2019 with the arrival of vocalist Thomi Rauch, whose distinctive and powerful voice became an integral part of the band’s sound. Together with Rodo Studer and Patrick Ambord on guitars, Thommy Ambiel on bass and Sven Imsand on drums, THOLA has developed into a tight, experienced and highly energetic live unit.

With two full-length albums, “Somewhere” (2021) and “Unseen” (2024), THOLA has established its own place within the European metal scene. Unseen received strong international press attention, with reviews highlighting its energy, songwriting, musicianship and melodic Power Metal character.

But THOLA truly comes alive on stage.

For the band, a concert is far more than simply playing songs. It is an audio and visual experience built around power, precision, passion and genuine Spielfreude. Every musician brings an uncompromising level of commitment to the stage, transforming the energy between the five members directly into the audience. Whether performing in an intimate indoor club or on a major outdoor festival stage, THOLA approaches every show with the same professionalism and intensity.

The band has already taken this energy across Europe, performing extensively in Switzerland and abroad and completing extended tours through Eastern and Central Europe, including shows in Germany, Italy, France, Austria and the UK. Their live history also includes support slots for established international acts and appearances on European stages and festivals.

THOLA lives for the stage. Five musicians, one powerful unit — delivering melodic heavy metal with precision, energy and an unmistakable joy of playing. Wherever the stage may be, THOLA makes it home.
